Chickpea (Kabuli Channa)
Chickpea is cultivated mostly in
Central India, the new arrivals coming in February- March. Mostly two
qualities are sold, based on the sizes- one is known as Dollar of
12mm size and the other is Medium size of about 8mm. One more variety
of very small size, traditionally cultivated in Maharashtra, has also
been revived by Morarka Organic. Currently Chickpea is sourced from
Morarka Organic projects in Maharashtra and some quantities are also
sourced from Madhya Pradesh.
